At Birdland Music Studio, the foundation is rooted in fostering a sustainable environment where artists and emerging talents can thrive. Inspired by the 8 Forms of Capital – intellectual, financial, natural, cultural, built, political, individual, and social – creating a space that not only supports artistic endeavours but also values relationships and nurtures creativity among artists is the ethos of Birdland Studio.
The studio, designed and built in a low foot print concept, Birdland Music Studio is an ongoing project aimed at achieving off-grid status, prioritising sustainability and environmental responsibility in its design, purpose and construction. Next step for the studio is the installation of solar panels, generating clean electricity and reduce reliance on the grid. The use of second hand material, including local sourced wood, and many second hand building materials embraces a low foot print approach while it progresses towards its off-grid aspirations.
The building accommodate a small group of musicians primarily using acoustic instruments, extends its services to authors and audio creators as well. It has a virtual and personal, hybrid collective that connects recording session musicians and collaborators, fostering diverse musical expressions. Take a look in our collective here.
As advocates for fostering meaningful connections within the artistic community, Birdland Studio is honoured to be the official sponsor of the Music in The Forest Hybrid Festival 2022, held in April in Ireland. Additionally, Birdland proudly support the Night and Day Festival held in September 2022 in Ireland, furthering the commitment to cultivating a vibrant and supportive music scene.
