Mauricio Barca,  Guitarrist and professor

Mauricio Barca is a musician from Porto Alegre, Brazil. He began his guitar studies in Los Angeles, California at G.I.T. (Guitar Institute of Technology) in 1996. He returned to Brazil and worked on several projects in the music field, in addition to teaching electric guitar. In this first aspect, his influences come from Pink Floyd, Led Zeppeling, Dee Purple, ACDC, Steve Vay, Joe Satriani, passing later by Scott Henderson, Jeff Back, Pat Metheny, John Scotfield, Mike Stern, George Benson, Wes Montgomery Lee Ritnour and Larry Carlton. He recently specialized in fingerstyle, a style to which he has been dedicating himself, teaching and giving workshops. In fingerstyle, his biggest influences are Robert Johnson, Django,  Merle Travis, Muddy Waters, Doc Watson, Chet Atkins, Jerry Reed and Tommy Emmanuel. Mauricio plans to develop a course teaching this wonderful technique that is fingerstyle.
